Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of paper & ink do you use?

We use 280 gsm textured Somerset Fine art paper, which is museum-grade, archival and acid free. This has the appearance of a heavyweight watercolour paper.
Our professional non-fade Canon Lucia pigment inks create stunning graphics which will last over 200 years.

What's the difference between rolled canvas and a ready to hang canvas?

Rolled canvas will arrive rolled in an art tube and can be stretched at any framing shop. You can also purchase your own stretcher frame and stretch it yourself at home.
Ready to hang canvas is stretched on a pinewood gallery box frame, all ready to hang on your wall. No further framing required, although you can frame it for a more dramatic look.
* Please note: Ready to hang canvases are not available to Australia & New Zealand buyers as wooden products are now banned for import inland.

What is the difference between a standard print and a fine art 'giclee' print?

Standard prints are created with dye-based inkjet inks which quickly fade and become yellow over time.
Our fine art giclée reproduction prints are printed with non fade Lucia pigment inks that will last up to 200 years. Our acid-free archival fine art paper is a museum grade slightly textured matte paper (very similar to watercolour paper).

We use 350 gsm Prestige canvas, a heavyweight premium cotton canvas which is hand varnished to bring out the depth of colour, also ensuring your artwork remains beautiful for many years to come.

Do you accept commissions and custom work?

Yes! Please get in touch to discuss your project. hello@kimberlygodfrey.co.uk

What is an embellished giclee print?

Embellished prints are created with the application of acrylic paints, inks, mediums and varnish painted on the surface of your print. This adds depth of colour and texture which gives your print the appearance of an original painting. Lead time is one week for embellished prints.
